Matthew Hilton

During LDF Matthew Hilton launched the HAL, a glass top coffee table with an interlocking Corian base. Also launched was Maia, an object of non-specified use that can be used as a side table, stool or step. Maia is made from solid wood and features complex joinery created by CNC technology. Both products reflect Matthew Hilton's signature attention to detail and love of craft - both technological and traditional - and are produced in the De La Espada factory in Portugal.
Matthew Hilton is a Royal Designer for Industry with over 30 years' experience designing modern classics. In 2007, he established his eponymous brand as a place he could have complete creative control. Hilton specialises in creating sculptural designs with an elegant simplicity that belies the complex engineering. His work is held in the permanent collections of The Geffrye Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
