A Revolution in Room Design – Another Innovation from Silent Gliss

Another world first from Silent Gliss – the perfect combination of panel glide and room divider system. Silent Gliss 2760 not only enables the installation of panels in rooms with uneven ceilings but also offers endless new ways to separate, decorate, and design your room! Its ability to be bent down to a narrow 15 cm radius allows the system to be used in countless variations.

The system available in a white powder coated finish is suspended with special hangers – allowing air circulation throughout the room which is a prerequisite for hospitals. The sturdy hangers offer excellent stability and are easily to install and adjust.

The already successful, innovatively designed roller-based carriers and profiles guarantee a very smooth and extremely quiet system operation.

New Design Elements – for an elegant and timeless finish

All the Silent Gliss panel glide systems become true eye-catchers and offer an elegant and timeless look when combined with the new design elements – a white fascia and draw rod (white or silver).
The high quality, bendable design fascia offers the perfect finish and effectively hides the workings of the panel glide system.
The new designed aluminium draw rod enables easier and more comfortable operation of the system. A slight pull of the draw rod is enough to make the panels glide almost silently and the aluminium tube guarantees a high level of stability.

Panton's Panthella

Retro is back...and Panton’s Panthella fits right in

Louis Poulsen is still producing one of Verner Panton’s greatest successes, Panthella – a lamp, which has achieved a cult-like status, fits right in with the retro trend.

Panthella is a reflection of the organic mode of expression, which is so characteristic for Verner Panton. The fixture, which is formed like a toadstool, is a sculpture in itself. The light source is hidden under a milky-white, hemispherical-formed acrylic shade and a white lacquered trumpet-like foot contributes to a beautiful distribution of the light. Panthella has a couple of unique details; a chrome ball is placed on the top which must be removed when replacing the bulb and at the base of the fixture up to 1.5m of cable can be stored so unused wiring can be hidden away.

The Panthella comes in white only and is available as a floor or table lamp. The floor version retails at £508 and the table lamp is £388.00.

Sancal - Overlooking the Danube from an Artica!

The Sofitel Stephansdom Hotel in Vienna was opened last December 14th - it is the latest project of the French architect Jean Nouvel (2008 Pritzker Prize).

This sophisticated hotel is housed in Stilwerk, an 18-story building which also includes 2 restaurants and 30 exclusive shops, and is one of the largest showcases dedicated to design.

Undoubtedly, the centrepiece of the project and the most impressive area is the viewpoint-restaurant Le Loft located on the top floor, with wonderful views of the Austrian capital. But the views are not the only thing that makes of Le Loft a very special place. The decoration is also a factor, and to a great degree - especially the ceilings of the Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist and the Sancal furniture: 114 Artica chairs and 66 Vela-Dora tables in a rich, cool grey.

Jean Nouvel chose Artica chairs for their cubic design and clean lines. During the press conference, before the inauguration, the architect was seated in one as he met the press.

The singular trapezoidal floor and a steel and glass façade, which are perfectly integrated with the environment and the way in which light changes the colours of the building as the day goes on, make Stilwerk the new symbol of the city and set it in the higher echelons of architecture.

Crest are now working with Chat-Board

'We are very pleased to be working with Chat-Board, a Danish company that produces a fantastic range of magnetic glass memo boards, to give your office, conference room, restaurant or even your kitchen a modern, colourful look.
The boards are available in a wide range of colours, both bright and muted, and there is also a range of co-ordinating tables and shelves so you can create a cohesive design.

HI-MACS® is exhibiting at EUROSHOP

HI-MACS® is exhibiting at EUROSHOP in style: The show stand has been designed exclusively for this event by Yasmine Mahmoudieh: It is a chocolaterie made of HI-MACS®. The stand walls resemble broken slabs of chocolate, placed together and display the HI-MACS® surface material in a way that is as sensual and stimulating as chocolate itself. Once again Mahmoudieh impressively proves just how versatile and adaptable this acrylic stone material is, and she demonstrates the many stunning designs that are possible with HI-MACS®. The material is an ecological, high-quality product which, thanks to its versatility, is becoming increasingly prevalent in the modern world of architecture and design.
Yasmine Mahmoudieh is known for the development of holistic, groundbreaking design, architectural and usage concepts which range from urban construction to product detail, wherein sophisticated lighting systems play a central role. In 1986 she founded her first design firm in Los Angeles, and since 1992 she has had her main office in London. She has also been a guest lecturer at the EHL (École Hôtelière Lausanne) for nine years, as well as at Universities in London, New York, Los Angeles, Monte Carlo, Shanghai and Moscow. Her current projects include the Nikolskie-Ryady Crown Plaza Hotel in St. Petersburg, the Ocean Park in Moscow, and the Art & Spa Concept in Rimini. She has received numerous awards in recognition of her interior design projects.

Yasmine Mahmoudieh will be at the HI-MACS® stand in person on 28 February 2011, from 11.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.
You will find HI-MACS at EUROSHOP 2011 at Hall 13, Stand E 75.

Design Prima

'Thank you for being patient with us.

As you know, we were planning a mid-May event at a new central venue in London but have run into major problems with securing essential guarantees from the owners in the last few days. As a result, we cannot now go ahead with that date, the risks are just too great.

Currently we do not have an alternative in place so I think it would be wise to play safe and plan your spring launches another way.

We apologise for having whetted appetites only to have to cancel. Good luck with your new products.

All good wishes.
