MBO secures future of Triumph

The Triumph Furniture Company, the 68 year old corporate furniture and storage supplier based in Merthyr Tydfil and Tredegar, South Wales, has been bought out of administration by the firm’s management team, securing more than 200 jobs in Merthyr and Tredegar in South Wales. This positive outcome ensures ongoing continuity of supply, and enables us to honour our ongoing warranties and responsibilities for our dealers and their Triumph-installed-furniture-base. Commenting on the changes, Andrew Jackson, Chief Executive of Triumph said, “This new restructuring gives us three opportunities important to our trade connections and key customers. The opportunity to ensure continuity and reliability of supply and choice at all times in this difficult market. The opportunity to make sure we have the right product range at the right price for today’s business and the opportunity to do what we’ve always done well: offer the trade quality products and reliability of service, helping to bolster the work of all our dealers in difficult times Triumph would like to use this opportunity to thank our loyal customers for their valued business over the years, and to express our commitment to and support of our business partners as we move forward together in the future. We will also be presenting some of our new products at Clerkenwell Design Week, 8 St John’s Lane, London – 24th to 26th May – and we hope to see you there.”

DesignedMade to launch the Tarantula Tea Light in white

DesignedMade will launch the Tarantula Tea Light in white at the Pulse trade show in June.

The Tarantula was DesignedMade’s debut product and remains a bestseller for the brand.

The tea light holder is designed to cast graphic shadows evoking sunbeams when the candle is lit.

Individually beautiful, when grouped together they produce a mesmerizing effect with overlapping shadows creating complex and intricate forms.

DesignedMade founder and designer of the Tarantula Tea Light, Jonathan Krawczuk explains that it is the ideal time to produce this popular design in a new colourway: "The white finish on the Tarantula Tea Light adds an extra touch of elegance to the product, it really suits the strong linear form. Since we launched the Tarantula in 2009, we’ve had endless requests at trade shows and from customers for the product in white. We originally launched the Tarantula at Pulse so it seems quite fitting that it’s going to be the backdrop for this new release."

The Tarantula Tea Light is now available in white, black, red, yellow, green and blue powder-coated steel. Its sculptural aesthetic has made it a popular product and the new white version is a welcome addition to the family. Look out for the Tarantula (on stand LP7) at Pulse at Earls Court in London from 5-7 June.

The possibilities are endless!

The new tables launched by Carl Hansen & Son gives you a wide range of options and the chance to get just the table you want. The six new Elliptical dining tables were designed by Hans J Wegner back in 1962, but never produced in large numbers.

The table designs are all inspired by an adapted ellipse. The new series of elliptical tables comprise models CH334, CH335, CH336, CH337, CH338 and CH339. With their original forms and clean lines, the tabletops investigate the possibilities of circular shapes, renewing the classical ellipse and providing excellent seating for all without annoying corners. The design concept also allows for a high degree of personalization: tables are available in three different lengths, in either solid wood (ash, beech, oak or walnut) or with stainless steel legs. All tables are available with tabletops in solid wood; tables with stainless steel legs are also available with tabletops in laminate or linoleum.

Carl Hansen & Son has cooperated with Wegner's Studio since 1949, and the Danish producer's respect for Wegner's oeuvre continues unabated. With the addition of the six new dining tables, Carl Hansen & Son extends its range of Wegner dining tables into yet another category.

Craftsmanship and quality are key focus areas for Carl Hansen & Son, and every piece of furniture is meticulously crafted with respect for its materials. The new dining tables are thus a lifelong investment in craftsmanship and design.

With their many material options, CH334, CH335, CH336, CH337, CH338 and CH339 provide design enthusiasts extraordinary opportunities to adapt Wegner's timeless tables to match their own individual decor and taste preferences. The new elliptical tables complete Carl Hansen & Son's already extensive table collection .The warm tones of the wooden tables are an elegant homage to the forest, the epitome of Scandinavian Living. And the streamlined stainless steel legs, together with understated laminate or linoleum, share minimalism's no-nonsense aesthetics.

Retail prices start at £2108.00

Great White by Claesson Koivisto Rune

Great White is a wall lamp in natural oxidised brass with an arched arm proportioned to allow people to walk underneath it. The lampshade, with the subtle curvature of its top is reminiscent of a big fish swallowing the bait. Great White makes a strong impact while taking up a minimal space.

Originally designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune for the guest suites of the exclusive new Nobis Hotel in Stockholm.
