Ralph Capper Interiors are a private family business established in November 1975. We are an independent contract furniture and lighting consultancy working with architects and designers on commercial projects including offices, hotels, football stadia, courts and other design-led spaces. We have dealerships for over 100 exclusive manufacturers of cutting edge furniture and lighting collections from the UK, Europe, US and Canada. We work on an consultancy basis to build the perfect furniture and lighting package for each individual project and budget and guide our clients through the specification and ordering process, before project-managing the full furniture installation and offering after sales service and guarantees.

This year has been a great success for our business. We have won competitive tenders to supply high profile projects such as Peninsula Business Services: 7 floors of furniture for over 600 staff, Manchester Airport Escape Lounge T1: Iconic Furniture and Lighting for an exclusive private passenger lounge, Manchester United Football Club Executive Boxes: Furniture and lighting supply to the most opulent / hi-tech boxes yet at the stadium, University of Lancaster LICA Building: Complete supply of all furniture to this state of the art cutting-edge new-build, University of York: Complete supply of all furniture to library building refurbishment.

Based on the success of the last 12 months and the quality of the projects we have won and delivered, we entered our company for the sought-after industry award ‘ MIXOLOGY NORTH COMPANY OF THE YEAR 2010’ and in acknowledgement of our 35 year anniversary, we took the entire team along including (now retired) Ralph and Susan Capper to the Awards Evening at The Palace Hotel Manchester on Thursday 25th November. In front of over 500 industry colleagues, competitors and professionals we succeeded in winning this prestigious award. The presenter read out the following to the sell-out crowd:

‘Our final award of the evening is the Company of the Year.
We have been genuinely impressed by the standard of entries we have received for these awards.

Of course the quality of presentation of an award entry is far from the be all and end all of our judges decision-making process.

One entry however, stood out for us in terms of presentation and also content.

The Mix Interiors Company of the year award winner is, this month, celebrating its 35th anniversary

Back in November 1975 our winning company’s founder, having already established himself firmly in the North West as Northern Sales Manager for Hille International, formed what was to become an institution in Manchester and the North West, and a name synonymous with high quality furniture.

Today the company is confounding the economic climate and continues to flourish. In fact it has. this year ,been involved in a number of the biggest and most prestigious projects in the region, including the Peninsular Project, the Escape Lounge at Manchester Airport, Lancaster University and Manchester United Football Club

The company was founded by a great man called Ralph, who we’re delighted to say is here tonight. Today it is run by Ralph’s son Ben, with exactly the same passion, expertise, integrity and honesty.

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the award, the awards evening and the response we have had from family, friends, associates, clients and suppliers. The evening was an real celebration for our team – in addition The Peninsula Project won ‘COMMERCIAL PROJECT OF THE YEAR AWARD’ for the interior design team we worked with ID:SR.

ID:SR also scooped the award of DESIGN PRACTICE OF THE YEAR 2010.
