Presented for the very first time in at the most recent edition of Biennale Interieur, Kortrijk, the new version of the Elephant chair, with wood legs, is currently being worked on. This project fulfils an entirely contemporary wish to combine apparently contrasting materials to create a new combination of techniques and aesthetic experience. It has been designed by the creative pair at Neuland Industriedesign, the design studio of Eva Paster and Michael Geldamacher, who have also designed the already well-known versions in polyurethane and leather. Here is Michael at work on a prototype of the new Elephant during a recent trip to the Kristalia headquarters.
