Foucault's Pendulum

In the week after reports that the Royal Institute of British Architects is under the control of the freemasons, news broke that Foucault's Pendulum had fallen to the ground. The 1851 piece of scientific equipment in Paris' Musee des Arts et Metiers, which proved that the Earth rotates, was at the centre of Umberto Eco's novel of the same name, which was about a masonic conspiracy theory.
