Go with the "Flo" and future-proof your office with Colebrook Bosson Saunders at Orgatec

Leading designers and manufacturers of workplace accessories, Colebrook Bosson Saunders, are set to launch their latest monitor arm – Flo – at Orgatec (the biggest show of its kind for office design and facilities) to be held in Cologne from October 26th – 30th 2010. Flo is a self-powered dynamic monitor arm that allows a flat screen to be used in either an upright viewing position, at desktop level as a touch screen, or anywhere in between.

The intelligent design of Flo enables a screen to "float" above a desk and to be precisely positioned with an easy and natural sweeping motion in an ergonomically correct way to suit every user. Flo’s ease of movement is unparalleled with the minimum of effort required to create the smoothest and lightest action available, achieved by the use of a geometric spring system (GSS).

The constant objective throughout the design process was to keep the shape, surfaces and joints as simple and pure as they could possibly be. For example, the parallel motion mechanism is invisibly contained within the body of the arm permitting a visually pure shape. Through ingenious design, Flo has been engineered to offer maximum performance with the minimum number of parts. The exterior is of equally pure design with clean surfaces, few visible parts, and a minimalist, streamlined appearance.

Uniquely, Flo features a visual indicator weight gauge that aids quick and easy adjustment saving valuable time in large installations. Working in unison with the adjustable tension feature, it enables the user to set the optimum tension for the screen weight. Once the optimum setting is found for the first screen this can be replicated across all other workstations to cut installation time dramatically.

Flo is future-proof: with its unequalled range of movement Flo embraces and solves the challenges raised by the new age of computer screen technology (and enables a choice of secure landscape or portrait orientation). As touch-screens are becoming more commonplace, Flo is the first product of its kind to take into account how they can be used in a comfortable and therefore ergonomically correct way. Without compromising on aesthetics or functionality a very competitive price point has been achieved.

Sustainability and recycling were priorities: the arm can be disassembled for easy recycling and the component parts are made from the minimum variety of materials. As a "one-box" solution packaging can be dramatically reduced. Use of a spring mechanism instead of a gas-strut also aids recycling. Flo carries monitors from 3 to 9KG and moves easily with no need to lock into position.

Flo can be trialed along with more innovations from Colebrook Bosson Saunders in Hall 07.1, Stand C068.
