Colour Magic with Pleated Blinds
Pleated Blinds are amazingly versatile: you can open them from the bottom or from the top letting you be in charge of the amount and kind of light you want to let in. They can even be shaped to fit awkward shaped windows. And with a great range of colours to choose from they can make a room really special.
Silent Gliss Pleated Blind systems are also ideal if you have a lot of glass and need to be able to keep cool. Pleated Blinds are especially popular for use in conservatories where their light weight and amazing versatility in accommodating the many glass shapes and angles are unique.
The pleated blinds are available with highly energy efficient fabrics including those with aluminium backing for heat reflection. They offer glare control, heat control, light control and privacy is guaranteed.
When opened the minimum stacking area allows maximum visibility.

Energize Your Home With Lighting
Regardless if you are working with synthetic or natural light, it has the ability to energize not just your home but the people in it as well. Brilliant touches of radiance can invigorate your home instead of letting dark spaces create a dismal mood. These easy tips will bring light to your space to add cheer to your day.
1 Welcome the Sun – Sheer window treatments provide brighter color by allowing natural light to fill the room. Thoughtfully placing mirrors where the light will be reflected will add a bright, positive energy to your space.
2 Avoid Clutter – Ottomans and storage benches are ideal for hiding blankets, magazines, etc., when not in use. Also, avoid adding too much furniture or art to a room. Too many objects in a room can cause it to appear smaller and darker.
3 Make Use of White – While white may not be the color you immediately think of when you picture contemporary design, small hints of it can certainly go a long way in brightening up your space. Fluorescent bulbs used in white accent lamps will offer you a more natural feel with your lighting while white moldings, shelves and picture frames can add just a hint of contrast in a darker room.
Light plays a key role in your mood and overall appearance of a room and should be treated as a primary decorating element, not an afterthought!
Check out our Modern Furniture collection on PadStyle Shop.

About a Chair
A chair which will fit anywhere in the home or office be it minimalist, classic or traditional.
Christian Skovhus, Managing Director of Icons of Denmark, explains: “The idea behind the About A Chair collection was to develop a chair with conspicuous simplicity. A chair which worked just as well around the dining table as around a conference table, in a canteen or at the office. The ambition of the designer Hee Willing was to reach a higher level in the combination of form, function, detail and aesthetics.”
Hee Willing and Hay worked in close collaboration to create a family of chairs where all shells and frames can be combined without letting the perfection in each single model lose ground to diversity.

KI provides classroom furniture for Chelsea Academy
KI Provides Classroom Furniture for Chelsea Academy
KI have provided classroom furniture for the new Chelsea Academy in Lots Road, London, working with FF&E Consultants Alligan and furniture suppliers Portsdown Education. This new Academy is sponsored by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS) in association with The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It will provide world-class education for approximately 800 pupils in years 7 to 11 and 250 students in the sixth form.
The Academy building, designed by architectural practice Fielden Clegg Bradley Studios, ranges between two and four floors built in linking blocks with atrium and open spaces providing good circulation space and internal light, which are key on this tight site. The furniture for the new building similarly needed to be appropriate for the aspirational setting but robust and fit for purpose and the Academy employed both the help of the students and teachers in the selection of the classroom furniture.

Nola Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011
Today’s fast-paced lifestyle relies on functional objects to run smoothly, and many of the practical problems facing modern life can be solved by good design. Each product from Nola faces this challenge, aiming to bridge the gap between the needs of the human and the possibilities that design has to offer. Nola’s starting point has always been the outdoor space and the need for hardwearing products that withstand weather extremes and intense human traffic. Equally attuned to commercial settings and public places, Nola also take quality design to museums, hotels, shopping centres and schools. Whether considered robust enough for the outdoors or stylish enough for the interior, each product from Nola is as practical and durable as it is striking and chic.

jaguar
naughtone has recently completed a national rollout for Jaguar’s automotive showrooms. This large scale programme has been applied throughout the UK to coincide with new model launches and the promotion of Jaguar’s new R performance and styling brand.
Born from naughtone’s original Clyde sofa; the Clyde “club-back” was developed especially for Jaguar. It provides the same professional, executive design as the original Clyde range but with a much smaller overall footprint. The back height was increased for added comfort and finished with a luxurious deep buttoning detail. The sleek curves and double stitch detailing on the Clyde “Club back” seating perfectly compliment the Jaguar space. naughtone also provided Trace coffee tables finished in high gloss black frames with back painted black glass tops. The large-scale Jaguar refurbishment represents a positive step forward for the company with an interior environment that has impressed both new and old clients alike.

naughtone’s newest family member the Vivid chair may be a lightweight at just 7kg but it has recently stood up to pass a tough round of testing from FIRA.
Acknowledged globally as a leading authority on furniture testing; The Furniture Industry Research Association measured the chair against rigorous strength, durability, stability and safety standards. Proving that despite its elegant aesthetic, the Vivid chair can hold its own amongst the toughest commercial environments!

Cappellini introduces shades of blue in Cologne
A dreamlike fantasy world underpins the Cappellini concept for Köln Internationale MoebelMesse 2011: a dreamy “blue box” to greet visitors, a striking display decorated in various shades of blue, like in a work of art.
Unveiled exclusively for the show is the “Cuba 25” sofa designed by Rodolfo Dordoni: 25 years after its début in the Cappellini catalogue, the Cuba is transformed, updated and revisited in asymmetrical modules of various depths – with and without armrests – that allow for various completely original “diamond-shaped” combinations for a more convivial and contemporary interpretation of the sofa: a truly innovative proposal that confirms Cappellini’s mission to develop new solutions that are closer to the demands of its customers.

The novelties unveiled at the Milan Salone del Mobile 2010 will be presented for the first time in Germany: the “Bel Air” armchair by Jasper Morrison, the “TWB” collection by the young Raw-Edges studio, the “Wanders’ Tulip Armchair” swivel armchair by Marcel Wanders in (obviously) blue cloth. “The Secret Clubhouse” armchair by Martin Vallin, now ready for mass production, will also be exclusively on show. The classics from the Collection will also be beautifully blue: the “Neo Country” stool by Ineke Hans, the “Hiip Table” series of tables by Leonardo Talarico, the “Altavilla” coffee table and “Luxor” table by Giulio Cappellini, the “Mini Bottle” table by E.Barber & J.Osgerby and the large, metal “Bugatti” lamps by François Azambourg from the Progetto Oggetto collection. Other immersions into shades of blue include enamels for containers: ultramarine blue for the “Luxor” by Giulio Cappellini and China blue for “Hi-Fi” by Studio Cappellini. Once again this year, the series of Collection and Series containers plays a fundamental role in the Cappellini display: with simple structures and clean designs, they confirm their remarkable ability to furnish living areas, common areas and offices thanks to their time-honoured compositional flexibility and extremely broad range of colours that have no equal on the market. The possibility of creating both floor standing and hanging compositions, with hinged or sliding doors and closed or open containers, is an opportunity to invent many different solutions for a décor that will always be dynamic and lively. Lastly, visitors will have a chance to experience the comfort of the “Superoblong” sofa by Jasper Morrison, presented in a brand-new denim version, and the “Easy Chair”, also designed for Cappellini by Jasper Morrison, which is now even more technological and flexible.
